MATH:  We worked on some simple addition, including using the members of our families, and learned how many combinations of numbers can equal the same number.  Each child wrote many numbers on this month’s take home calendar.

LANGUAGE ARTS: In addition to reading groups, we have been working on writing on lined paper, forming each upper and lower case letter correctly.  The children did a great job of writing letters and words on our colored writing paper.

SCIENCE:  We finished our zoo unit by learning about many of the mammals we saw at the zoo.  This week we are beginning our unit about animals of the sea.

UP-COMING:

OPEN HOUSE:  Remember Open House is coming on Thursday evening, May 29.  I hope that every family will be joining us that evening to see the many things in our classroom your child has to share with you.

Please save any empty soup cans (the regular size, either Campbells or store brand) and send them to school after you have washed them out.  I can only use ones that have a smooth edge around the top.  I would like to give the children their crayon cans to keep at the end of the school year but can only do so if I have new cans for next year’s class.
